The Crowned Stick Insect ( Onchestus rentzi ) is easy to care for and harmless. They are very “stick like” in appearance and get their name from the lumpy “crown” on top their head. Females can grow up to 12cm long. Males are much smaller and slender than the females. Crowned Stick Insects feed mainly on eucalyptus (gum) and acacia (wattle) leaves. They require an enclosure of minimum size 35cm tall x 25cm x 30cm and room temperature of 20 to 28deg C. Not for sale to Western Australia.
