CURRENT POSITIONS


Administration Officer (1 Position)administration

We are currently seeking an Administration Officer to assist with Accounts, Bookings and general public enquiries.
The position will be casual at first but will gradually increase to Monday to Friday 10:00Am to 4:00Pm except for Public Holidays.
Experience with common accounting software applications such as MYOB, Quicken etc would be an advantage but not essential.
The successful applicant will also be required to help and assist in the preparation of print material as required as well as assisting
in various other tasks as needed. This is a challenging position as you will be the first contact point for our entire organisation and
the front face and voice to all our customers and visitors.

 
 
Museum Education Manager (1 Position)eduofficer

An exciting opportunity is available for the right individual to join the IOV Team as our Museum Education Manager.
This position will involve the presentation of various educational programs to students of all levels as well as being the driving force
behind the interpretation of all museum displays and exhibitions to the general public. The successful applicant will also be responsible
for our other Museum Education and Interpretation Officers both indoor and outdoor. To suceed in this role, you will have a natural
ability to 'captivate' an audience regardless of age, and present our program with excitement, passion and vigor. Experience in a similar
museum environment is desirable but not essential, however you need to demonstrate a sound knowledge of General Entomology /
Insect Classification and related subjects. This position would suit a hobby based individual that has amassed the required subject matter
or a past student of the subject. Previous media (Radio, Television) experience would be a distinct advantage.

Museum Education Officer (2 Positions)MuseumOff

The Insectarium of Victoria currently has two positions available as a Museum Education Officer.
This position would suit either a teacher experienced in dealing with students at the Primary and Secondary Levels seeking a more
specialised role in a Museum type setting or perhaps an individual that has a passion for the subject but has had little opportunity to
work in this particular area of study. You will work closely with our Museum Education Manager to ensure that the IOV Education Programs
are delivered in an exciting and passionate way in order to enthral your audience. If your able to do that, we want to hear from you.
Hours will generally be Monday to Friday 10:00 Am to 4:00 Pm with some weekend work on a rotational basis as required.

 


Outdoor Tour Officer (2 Positions)outdoored

A position is now available for the right individuals to join the IOV Team as our Outdoor Tour Officers.
This position will involve the presentation of various educational ecology based programs to students and visitors of all levels in an
outdoor setting. The successful applicant will be taking visitors in groups along our outdoor walking tracks and presenting programs
based on insect and related invertebrate ecology. Other outdoor sessions such as Apiary Demonstrations will be available for you to
guide your group towards during the couse of the tour under your control. The successful applicants will also be required to assist
visitors as they arrive and will also involve assisting within the main museum if outdoor weather is not suitable. This role will primarily
run during weekends but may also develop into weekdays as our visitor numbers increase.
