The Insectarium of Victoria provides an identification service for members of the public, government departments and other interested groups seeking to identify specimens. Generally, if a species can be identified on the spot, no charge is applicable. A nominal fee is charged for more obscure or specialist identifications. We also undertake field survey studies for conservation groups, mining industries and local, state and federal government departments.

The Insectarium of Victoria is often featured in the print, radio and national television media as one of the most unique museum experiences available to both students and the general public within Australia.
Today, the Insectarium of Victoria continues to expand its collections and displays and is constantly looking into ways of enhancing its message of invertebrate and insect awareness to our visitors.
